ILinks Mocktails

The ILinks Mocktail party provides a unique and wonderful opportunity for networking among lesbian, transgender, queer and bisexual Penn women with professionals.

Tuesday, March 21st
QPenn Rally
11am-1pm College Green
A kick-off to the week’s events with speakers from the LGBTQA community both on and off campus, featuring President Amy Guttman speaking at 11:50am.

Chat ‘n Chew with Dr. Barbara Savage
5:30pm Sweeten Alumni House
This one hour session is devoted to sharing with students the importance of goal setting, risk taking and networking. This informal dialogue with out professor Dr. Savage will include both triumphs and challenges in making important life-decisions related to educational, professional and personal experiences. Co-sponsored by MAKUU

QPOC Dinner Discussion

Queer People of Color will be hosting a dinner discussion, with the constituent groups of the five resource centers to consider issues facing the various communities, how these issues relate to each other, and how groups can collaborate. Dinner will be provided. RSVP by Tues. March 21 at noon to Malek Lewis at malekl@sas.upenn.edu. RSVP strongly encouraged due to limited space.

Gay and Greek

A panel discussion on the intersection between sexuality and the Greek system at
Penn.

ALLIES Chat Room

The best thing cyber space has to offer during QPenn…ALLIES, Penn’s queer-straight alliance, is hosting its bi-annual ANONYMOUS and CONFIDENTIAL chat room. Whether you’re out or questioning, it doesn’t matter, come learn from others who can share their experiences with you and help answer any questions. Thursday, March 23rd
Kinky Karnival
7pm - 10pm LGBT Center
The second of its kind, the Kinky Karnival features eight different presenters demonstrating kinky activities ranging from self pleasure to electro play. Members of the Philadelphians MC and Liberty Bears will be in attendance to answer questions about the Philly community. If you came last year, you’ll see some old friends and some new tricks.
Cover $10 without Penn ID
Cosponsored by the Office of Health Education (OHE).

Friday, March 24th
Dr. Sue Rankin - “The Final Frontier, Out In Athletics”
5pm LGBT Center
Former Penn State, NCAA Division I Women’s Softball Coach, Dr. Sue Rankin, and current Coordinator of Penn State’s LGBT Equity committee will be facilitating an open discussion of the interaction between sexuality and athletics.

Allies Open Mic Night

End the week with an open mic night. ALLIES is hosting a night of entertainment just for you!! All this for FREE.

Sunday March 26th
“Fish Can’t Fly”
5pm Hamilton College House Rooftop Lounge
Come to a free screening of Tom Murray’s film, “Fish Can’t Fly,” which documents the lives of several people who entered reparative therapy, or ex-gay, programs, followed by an open discussion and refreshments. While this event is open to all, it is not recommended for those questioning their sexual orientation.

Queer Quizzo

So you think you’re fabulous? Think you know everything there is to know about being queer? Come play and prove it! Eat our delectable desserts…yum! Come with a group of friends and organize your own team. Winners will receive ultra queer prizes.

History of the Lesbian and Gay World with Jade Esteban Estrada

Award winning Comedian Jade Esteban Estrada will be presenting his ICONS, History of the Lesbian and Gay World Volume I, featuring his portrayals of Michelangelo, Silvia Rivera, Ellen Degeneres, Gertrude Stein, among others.
Co-sponsored by the LGBTC, La Casa Latina, Latino Social Workers Alliance, the Latino Coalition and Spec Connaissance.

Tuesday, March 28th
PEARL Dinner

Come for an evening to remember and celebrate lesbian activism both on and off campus. Dr. Marcia Gallo will be presenting “The Daughters of Bilitis: The History of Lesbian Organizing in the USA” with local organizers in a panel discussion about contemporary lesbian feminism and lesbian activism.
Co-sponsored by Penn Women’s Center, PEARL (Penn’s Eagerly Awaited Radical LesBiTrans organization), LGBT Center, and the Women’s Discussion Group.

Monday, March 27th - April 1st
LGBTQA Art Exhibition
5pm-7pm Fox Art Gallery, Logan Hall
Join us for an exhibition of LGBT art and artists. A Gallery reception will occur on March 27th.

On Locust Walk, right outside Steinberg-Deitrich Hall... they should be selling between 10am and 4pm on Monday.
